SMPA Builder Instructions

Purpose: This tool generates a professional, interactive league calendar for the SMPA website.

1. Configuration & Modification

• Auto-Population: The tool loads with the current session's default leagues and narrative text.
• Modifying Leagues: Change times, levels, and facilities in the sidebar. To add a hyperlink to a specific ladder, paste the URL into the "Ladder Link" box.
• Live Preview: The right side shows exactly how the calendar will look. Legend buttons highlight specific league types on hover.

2. Custom Flags

• Adding a Custom Flag: Under "Custom Flags" in the sidebar, type a label (e.g. "Senior"), pick a background color and text color using hex codes (e.g. #235ca6 for blue, #ffffff for white). Click "+ Add Custom Flag". It will appear as a legend button in the preview and as a new checkbox in each league entry.
• Limit: Up to 2 custom flags can be active at one time.
• Removing: Click the red × button next to the flag to remove it. Any leagues using it will lose that flag.

3. Managing Locations

• Adding a Location: Under "Manage Locations", enter a short ID (no spaces, e.g. NEWPARK), a background hex color, and a text hex color. Click "+ Add Location". It will appear in the league dropdowns and get its own legend button.
• Removing: Click the red × next to a location. Built-in locations (BASH, WHITTIER, UPTON, ROSIES) can be removed if not needed, but note any leagues assigned to them will need to be updated.
• Colors: Enter hex codes including the # sign (e.g. #b8db26). A color swatch previews your choice. Use a dark text color on light backgrounds and white on dark backgrounds.

4. Bold Text in Narrative Boxes

• Wrap any word or phrase with *B* on each side to make it bold in the published output.
• Example: *B*Registration opens April 11*B* will appear as Registration opens April 11 on the website.
• This works in all narrative text boxes: Membership, Registration, New Features, DUPR, Standard Format, and Partner Format.
• The live preview on the right shows the bold formatting as you type.

5. Exporting to Membership Toolkit (MTK)

Once your configuration is ready:

1. Click the large green "Copy Clean Website HTML" button at the bottom of the sidebar.
2. Log into Membership Toolkit.
3. Go to Website -> Content Pages.
4. Find your Ladder page and click Edit Page.
5. Add a Block (select HTML from the dropdown).
6. Name the Block: Follow the naming convention (e.g., Summer Leagues Session 1).
7. Paste the copied HTML into the HTML Content textarea.
8. Click Save and Close.
9. Enable/Disable: Click the orange rectangle button to the right of your new block to "Enable" it, and disable any previous blocks.
